Happy Birthday to my 6 year old Kaden

Happy Birthday to you
You live in a zoo
You act like a monkey
And you smell like one too!

Six years ago, on December 3, 2007, Karl and I went to Taco Bell, had supper and then headed to the hospital to check in.  My water broke at 6am on December 4th.  My body worked well until I was about 5 cm.  Then it stopped.  Your heart beat slowed and they informed me we were going to have to do an emergency c-section.  You were born at 3:26 on December 4th.  You were purple when you came out but your cry was perfect.  You ate well and slept well.
You always wanted to be put in your own bed to go to sleep.  Very rarely did I get to rock you.  But most mornings you would wake up and eat and then we would get back in the bed and snuggle until about 9 or 10 am.  You taught us everything we know about raising babies.  We are still learning from each other.
You are a very kind hearted, sweet boy that loves to be told that you are doing a good job.  You look out for your brother and now sister.  Thank you for being such a kind boy.  I pray that you grow strong in the Lord and that you will be a great leader in the church.
Happy Birthday to you, Kaden Wayne.

 The favorite toy….the box!

Kaden lost two more teeth.  He pulled one on the 2nd of December and one on the 3rd of December.

My Kaden is FIVE

Where has my time gone?  I am not ready for FIVE.  He is so grown.  He loves school.  He loves Bible Class.  He enjoys playing with his friends.  My Kaden is FIVE...

On Kaden's birthday we were joined by the Sear's family at Excalibur for an afternoon of fun.  It rained all day and we were the only people in the joint.  It was super exciting for all of four of the kids.  They played for two hours non stop.

Sir Leland guarding the presents.
Kaden wanted to write his own name on his birthday cake.

Leland just drew circles.
Kaden is great at using his imagination.
He has an imaginary friend named Cot.  Cot can do some amazing things!
Kaden wants to be a farmer when he grows up.
He asked for a ring with a crystal in it (like mommy's).
He wants to marry Kristyn when he is older.
He is starting to read.
He ALWAYS has a say.  He either wants to clarify or ask you a question.
He wants the baby to be a boy so they can go to school together.

His birthday present was a hit...for days!

Birthday Story...Kaden's birthday was on a Sunday this year.  Karl and I thought very hard about what to buy him and finally came up with a scooter.  Sunday morning he got up and found a wrapped present on the table.  (He loves his German animals...and with the travel of Thanksgiving...somewhere we lost one of his favorites...a blue parrakeet.) He opened his scooter and said, "I don't want this.  I thought it was my bird.".  So, Sunday afternoon, he got to head to Walmart and return his scooter.  It was a very hard Sunday for all of us.  He kept saying, "I don't want to give it back." while he was at Walmart.  We made him return it and then later that week we went and picked out two angles off of the tree at the Wellness Center and bought Christmas gifts for them with his gift card.  Lesson learned.  On Tuesday night, we celebrated Kaden's birthday.  He wanted cupcakes with sprinkles (and chose the orange ones at that..).  So, we made cupcakes and opened two small things we had for him (already)...his reaction was MUCH better.  I don't know if it was true or not, but it was much more appreciative and well received from our end.  A very hard lesson learned (for all of us).

Opening gifts from the grandparents.  Grandma Cindy and Z both sent gifts.  He thought that was ok!

Kaden, we love you to pieces.  You are growing to be such a strong and handsome boy.  Please continue to love Jesus and live as He lived.  Your daddy and I are blessed to have such a special boy with a sweet heart.  Love you a bushel and a peck!

Our 3 year old!

Kaden turned three on December 4th! We have been talking about his birthday ever since Thanksgiving. We decided we wanted to give him a party. Kaden is a sweet boy and we are blessed to have him.

About Kaden:
38.3 inches tall (0%)
37 pounds heavy (91%)

Kaden wouldn't hear anything but the sound of waves. So, we booked a hotel and organized a swim party! He loved it. He told Karl and I (at least every hour), "thank you for my birthday!".

He talks in complete sentences, articulating very well most letters of the vocabulary! He loves to play with animals (his favorites are the aquatic animals). He has a silly laugh and loves to perform songs. Kaden loves to stack/build things. His favorite thing to do with daddy is fish or play trains (depending on the weather). His favorite place to play is in the bathtub. Whenever he gets a new animal his first request is, "May I take a baf, please?".

Kaden, my 2 year old

Kaden is growing so strong and healthily. He is putting together sentences and using his words so well. One of his favorite books right now is "Go, Dogs, Go". He loves to read most any book, but prefers this one. He has such sweet prayers. Never fails that he will remember Neil, Braxton, Brazos and Brayson then we search for things and get real materialistic. He always remembers Tammi (a lady from church we have been praying for) and Clint.

Kaden sleeps through the night and loves to come and cuddle with me when he hears his daddy up and going between 6 and 6:30 am.

His 2 year stats are:

Height - 36.8 inches (95%)
Weight - 31.5 pounds (83%)
Head Cir - 49.8 (77%)
BMI - 16.3 (42%)

This was our first visit to have a BMI figured. Pretty interesting!

We love our big boy and he is very much so still a mommy's boy. He loves to play horsey with his daddy but cries to mommy.

Kaden, you are our little light. You make us laugh all the time. You will do anything to see your daddy smile. Your prayers are as sweet as the day is long. You have a different prayer for breakfast as for bedtime and lunch. I love you dearly. You love to sit and flip through books. At the moment you are fascinated with Curious George. You would sit and look at pictures of our family all day and consistently name them. Your love of books is amazing and you push me back to sit in a chair when I am sitting on the edge of the couch so you know we will sit and read the book you desire. When you drop/fall/run into something, you tell the object "NO, NO". You love to sing during church. When it is time for a prayer, you usually thank God for Neil, and the boys (loudly) before I can get you quiet. You ask, daily if we can go to "Neil. House. Come on. Go."! Every morning you wake up and ask, "Where daddy go?". Then you answer..."work". When I tell you someone is coming over or we are going to town, you get all excited and pump your arms up in the air and say "WooHoo!"....I love that one! You get super excited about Bible Class and love to sing The B.I.B.L.E and Roll The Gospel Chariot Along. When someone says light, you usually look for a flashlight or stick up your finger for "This Little Light of Mine". You hear well and listen most of the time. You LOVE to climb on your stool and "cook" in the kitchen with mommy. If I would let the water run all day, you would stand at the sink and "clean". Thank you for being such a wonderful little boy. You are loved and you will be a great big brother.

Brazos wanted his picture taken with the sign like Kaden.
So, I allowed it! I love those Beck boys!

Kaden walking from here to there...

Karl and his sweet baby boy at Grandma Cindy's house. Kaden loves being outside and we chilled out on her deck when the weather allowed.

Karl and I wish everyone a Merry, Merry Christmas and a family-friend filled lifetime!

Kaden too!

This is the day Kaden decided to walk. He had not cared a single bit about picking up his feet. After lunch on Saturday, November 29, 2008, he decided that it was time to move his feet! The first time Karl and I both saw him walk he took a whopping 8 steps.

On the way home from Texas, we stopped in Joplin, MO (to split the trip up for Karl's back). Kaden enjoyed himself as well as play time with his daddy.
