Leland's visitors...and Kaden's too...

Grandma Cindy and Sherry were able to come and spend some time with us. The grass is super green, the weather is perfect and what more could anyone ask for on a spring day than this...but to add family!!! WOOHOO!

Karl had his first softball game of the season last week and we were all able to go and watch. JD did well and Karl had some good hits!

Kaden took every minute of Grandma Cindy and Sherry's time...

and dad's too.
We enjoyed him being home for a few days as well.

Monday we ventured in the sushi making...We all loved it and it was FUN!

Karl and his roll...

Sherry's...

Karl loves sushi and we make it at home more than we pay for it in restaurants. It is time consuming but we like making it at home. My favorite is a vegetable with crab meat roll. Karl likes most everything...even the ones with ma-sago...

5 Things I love about you...

Kaden
1. You are becoming more and more independent. I love how you will not allow me to go and help in the bathroom any longer (even though I get to help clean up...).
2. I love to hear you sing. Any time we get in the car you are bobbing your head to the radio and then you will ask to turn off the 't.v' and 'sing me, mommy!'. You love to sing the same songs over and over, but it has to be your idea!
3. I love that you want to sit and cuddle early in the morning. I love that you know our/my routine.
4. I love that you can't wait for your daddy to come home and how excited you get when you see or hear him pulling in the drive. I love to sit and watch you play with your daddy and to see how he can make you smile!
5. I love that you are a VeggieTales fanatic!

Thank you for being our oldest son. I love you every day...I also love how you tell me over and over again, 'mom, I love you too!' without being prompted!

Leland...
1. I love how we have our own personal time and no one can replace that.
2. I love your squeaky noises that you make when you think you are starving.
3. I love your frog cuddle position.
4. I love your dark long hair and how you flare your nose when you are taking care of business!
5. I love that you have no idea what is about to take place in your life...

The ZOO and Ol' Blue!

Leland was in this position the whole time we played at the zoo.

We have a yearly membership to our local zoo and Kaden LOVES to go. My goal is for us to have visited the zoo once a week. We can go and see all of the animals in a little over an hour. Kaden loves all of the animals. He likes the otter and enjoys the petting zoo. It's pretty outside and time for our trips to start increasing! Spelling out Z.O.O. doesn't help anymore. We know that word!

Karl (and Ben) replaced the brakes on Karl's old '53 truck this last week. Ben allowed Karl to use his garage and put the truck up for a week. He gave Karl some good tips here and there. Karl worked very hard on his truck and it is back in working condition! WOOHOO! Way to go, Babe!

Leland's 2 week stats and rolling over

Leland is officially three weeks old tomorrow and I am behind...image that!

Height - 21.8 inches tall (85%)
Weight - 8 pounds 8 ounces (44%)
Head Cir - 37.5 centimeters (59%)

One day prior to three weeks of age, Leland decided tummy time was no fun and has rolled both ways three times before going to sleep...yet again for the evening.

Leland is a great eater and sleeper. He does not spend more than a total of four hours awake all day. We don't get to see much of his eyes. He peeps every now and then, but for the most part; keeps his blue tented eyes shut. He loves to wake up hungry and eat. We are truly blessed with two beautiful boys. Leland still loves to be swaddled and LOVES his pacifier...He is starting to follow our voices with his sweet eyes (when they are open) and loves to hear his daddy's voice.

Leland is sleeping through the night (very rarely waking more than once a night). He likes to start his day at 6 am but it is a short start. We usually cuddle on the couch until Kaden wakes up about 8:30 am. Leland is still at the stage where he sleeps through EVERYTHING.

Kaden enjoys time when Landon or the Clapp's can come over and play. At this point, I am no fun...Kaden has become a HUGE fan of moomies (movies) and unfortunately I have allowed him that. We read lots-o-books, but Veggie Tales and Super Why have become our FAVORITES. I love to watch him dance and move his stuff! Kaden picks up on things quickly. He is a little mirror and recorder. I see many positive things in him, I am thankful for as well as the actions I don't like in myself...time to change (a little late, but time...non the less). Now that the weather has allowed (as of today) we have been outside during light hours!!!!! WooHOOO!

Karl is replacing the brakes on his '53 Chevy and learning tons of information...valuable...I am sure. He loves his 'blue' and I am thankful for that. I will be glad when the brakes are replaced and we get our daddy back in the evenings. He has overcome many challenges with this brake job. Apparently, they don't make brakes for '53 Chevy's any more! So, Karl has had to improvise and make things work in a round about way. He is being very positive about being done this week...if the last set of shoes and pads are fixed by then! I am proud of my husband sticking with it and getting the truck back up and running!

Easter 2010

Z thought it would be a great idea if we had a mock Easter Egg Hunt at the house to prepare Kaden for the big event at church on Sunday...turns out...that was a grand idea! Thanks, Mom for preparing my kids!
The first two were hard to find, but once he figured out what an Easter Egg was, he was off and picking them up as fast as he could.
Dirt is so much fun...even when you are hunting for eggs!
The Easter Bunny must have made a stop. Kaden enjoyed both his and Leland's basket of goodies.
Sunday's Hunt. Isn't he the cutest!

Cordelia and Kaden. Cordy's daddy is the designer of our LTC shirts. Dug is super creative!
Z and Leland...I have GOT to get better about taking pictures. This is the only picture I took of Leland on Easter!
The Daddy and Kaden...feeding the rabbits an Easter treat!
Da and Z were able to spend Easter 2010 with us. Mom came up earlier to help me while Karl was at LTC...I could not have survived without my sister and my mom! THANKS!
Our 2010 LTC conquerors! We love these kids...and the coaches!!!

Sweet company!

I don't think I took one picture of my dad while he was here...shame on me.
Mama Z and Da were great help. Mom was here for a week and I abused her. She had me sitting with my puffy feet up all day. Dad was able to drive up and join us for the long weekend. Kaden and I loved it (Karl loved it too, he was just gone most of the time). Karl headed to LTC (which was a huge success)!

Thank you Da and Z for being here while Karl was away!

My big 2.5 year old. He is so loving and protecting of Leland...already!

See how happy they are to be brothers! Kaden looks like a giant next to Leland!

Z loved on these two boys all week. Kaden has looked in every room as of today and calling out "Z, where are you?".

Neil and Leland...it's amazing how much he has grown in two weeks!

Leland had a cardiologist appointment this morning for his heart murmur and all is well. The Dr. did not seemed worried about it and doesn't even want to see us back unless our pediatrician thinks different. WOOHOO! We are thankful for a healthy, growing boy!

We appreciate all of the help from our family and the time they gave up to come and be with us!
