Lyneil and Andy are updating the bathroom upstairs (now that they are leaving). Karl decided since they were going to work on it, he wanted to redo the cabinets. The only ones we have in so far are the ones you see here....hand made by Karl. They have a nice star cut out in the middle of both cabinets. Jennifer has been asking for pictures for weeks...here you go!
Top of the newly tiled shower. It looks so nice!
I was trying to get the tile floor color in this picture...you have to look pretty hard, sorry!
Close up of the cabinets. The cabinet for the sink is not finished yet, but that is the actual bowl of the sink Karl is going to use (it's clear)!
Monday is a crazy day at our house! Who am I kidding, Sunday through Saturday is CRAZY at our house, but each Monday we more than double what craziness we have on a daily basis. Here are a few snap shots from this morning. We are missing Braxton and Rosa (school) and Neil! Ryan and Giao (members of the church) come to help...what help they are!!!

They are a busy handful but we have a great time. It is so nice that they all play so well together. Aren't they all so cute?
This is how I left my two boys on Sunday afternoon! Isn't life the sweetest thing...here on earth!

Kaden-isms (16 months old)

"Ah duh" - "All Done". Usually heard at the table after meals.

"Tan too" - "Thank you". When asked to say it, some times with more attitude than necessary.

"Bite" - Seriously spoken. No need to ask questions, this is a time for consuming and that is all.

"Bye Bye, Da do" - "Bye Bye, Love You". He will generally cry if you are walking out the door and he is not invited, (it's not always that he wants to go with you, he just wants to be outside) but as soon as he realizes he is not going to get his way, he stops crying; and in a very loud and clear voice says "Bye Bye, Da do". It is the sweetest thing!

"Nigh, Nigh" - "Night, Night". This is always said with a lean of the whole body. He demands a kiss on the head and will stay leaned into your leg, chest or whatever until he is kissed on the head. He loves to blow kisses and actually scruntches his lips for a smooch.

"Book Eas" - "Book Please". Recently, we have heard these words put together for pleasure. This little one likes to read. Favorites (right now) "Time for Tom" (Veggie Tales), "Brown Bear, Brown Bear", "Polar Bear, Polar Bear", and "The Very Hungry Catepilar".

Easter Time

Lyneil and I took the boys to the mall last Tuesday, not expecting a big, over-sized white animal to be present...Braxton and Kaden seemed to think everything was just fine....not so much the same for the younger two Beck boys!
Brayson wanted nothing to do with the bunny nor did the candy entice him as to even want to look at the bunny.
Braxton just talked to the bunny, Kaden just stood back and watched. Kaden touched the bunny once and that was enough.

The video is of Brayson and Brazos and their desire for the bunny...

After a fun time playing at the mall, we came home and Kaden was having a splashing great time in the bathtub. He loves the water!!

Zant Reunion 2009

We had a blast.

All 5 brothers (and most wives) were present and accounted for!
Granny was unable to attend this year...She was missed.

Here is our small but might group. If you were not present...you should have been!
The bounce house was a hit! Kaden and all of the kids lived in it (except during lunch time).

Ava - Brayson - Kaden

Jorge lost his smile, so Amy over compensated to make up for it!

Kitchen update

Kitchen cabinets came today!! The kitchen is looking great!

Roger was able to work hard on the floors while we were all in Texas. We are planning on putting carpet down in the living room later.

We don't have any of the doors on yet, but we are getting close! I know Lyneil is ready for a fully functional kitchen again...as we all are!

Karl chose a nice calm green for the kitchen and it looks fantastic!

It all looks GREAT! We are thankful for the new kitchen...I know we will enjoy this as much as Andy and Lyneil will enjoy their new kitchen in their new home! Thanks Lyneil and Andy!

Cookie Monster

Karl requested a 'bought' cookie for his birthday...Since the kitchen is in three different rooms of the house right now, a cookie was a grand plan!
Needless to say, we had help blowing out all of the candles. Braxton and Brazos wanted to put lots of candles on the cookie, so Karl had a plethora of numbers...funny, they still didn't add up to how OLD he really is!

Friday night, my birthday husband took Braxton, Brazos, Kaden and myself out to a hockey game...compliments of the big JD. The boys enjoyed it! We got to see more dirty hockey fights and had some great time with other JD families.
The three boys looking out over the ledge.
Thought this random picture of the oldest two was pretty funny. These boys have the best imaginations. They play well together and for the most part, include the younger two (even if Kaden and Brayson don't want to be included)!
We'll end with a sweet little girl. We don't get to see Ava and our Texas cousins near as much as we would like, but when we do, we appreciate the time we have to spend with them!
I love this picture of Kaden. His eyes are so blue and his smile is great! Kaden is just a little bit determined (you could say -hard-headed...like his daddy). He likes to play out the thought in his mind and usually doesn't back down without a fight. We love this guy to pieces.
