Prayers are Needed

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to talk to God? I have learned to appreciate the fact that my drive one way to work is 45 minutes. I love it. It is my quiet time with God and I can't get away from it. I don't have any interruptions and it is helping me tremendously.

I love this random picture I found on the internet of these two teams coming together in prayer. How wonderful would it be if we allowed God to still be a part of every team event we are associated with?

I have a favor to ask of all of you. My Granny Zant is going to have her vein swap surgery on Thursday, November 16th. She has had two very close calls and we are praying that this surgery will be one of which is successful without extreme measures of reviving her.

Her heart is sad also because of some family things that we are going through. Please pray that God's Will be done for our family.

It is great to be able to have such friends that I can rely on for prayer.

My husband is the GREATEST!!!!

My wonderful husband gave me 20 beautiful long stem roses. There are four different colors; yellow, pink, peach and white. Since Karl had back surgery yesterday he stayed home with Lyneil and the boys. He mentioned that he wanted to to go get some flowers for me and Lyneil (being the care taker that she is) would not allow him to drive yet. So, she went with his list and purchased the flowers Karl asked her to purchase. When I came home from work he was putting water in the vase and arranging them.

I asked why the roses to the man that has litterally brought me flowers on one other occassion in 5 years. He just doesn't do flowers. He told me that there was one flower for every pound that I have lost. Isn't he great! What a man!

Thank you Neil for running and getting the flowers for Karl (and for helping me stay on track with my WW) and thank you Karl for the beautiful thought!

I love you Karl Wayne!

It is connected to your ribs that keep most of your vital organs safe. Your spine allows you to bend to pick up things. Karl and I have been at the hospital since 4:45 am this morning. Karl had a ruptured disk in his lower lumber area and he had surgery for it today. He has nine staples in his back holding his lovely incision together. He is on the road to recovery. He is surly a tough cookie, a real trooper. I hate that he had to go through so much pain, but I am THANKFUL for modern technology and for smart doctors that are truly blessed to have such a wonderful heart to heal people with medicine. More than that, I am THANKFUL that God is on our side and HE LOVES US and heals our spirits as well as helps us heal our bodies.

This one snuck up on us and we acted quickly from the time of the first appointment until this morning. I just wanted to remind all of us that our backs are one of the few things that cannot be replaced if broken. Treat it kindly and take care of yourselves and be thankful for healthy bodies!

God is so good!

Let us know what ways God has been good to you today!

How Many of Me Are There

My name is very common amoung thoes in the US. There happen to be 362,962 Andrea's and 224,976 McDonald's. Not very surprising, there are no Andrea Zant's in the US. We seem to have plenty of Andrea McDonalds!

13 To Do's with my Hunny!

Trim the hedges - Last year I was here for the trimming of the hedges. It is one of Lyneil’s favorite fall activities. We are going to prepare for the snow that is about to bless us and in doing so, we need to trim down all of the hedges in the front of the house and mow!

Start scanning pictures - Since I rarely use my 35 millimeter camera, most of my pictures that I need to use for all of the calendars that I do at the end of the year are digital. There are still some that will need to make their way into the calendar that are not digital and I need to get them scanned in and ready for editing.

Zant Reunion Picture Frames – We have our Zant Reunion coming up and I have two frames that need to be built by my talented husband. They need to be started and finished!

Zant Reunion Pictures – I need to find enough pictures to fill the frames that I have so that when the frames are done, the project is finished!

Sort through all of my clothes – Until this point, I have not needed a wardrobe for different seasons. In San Antonio it didn’t warrant different clothes. Very rarely is it ever cold enough to make big changes. Now, I have a need for it and my closet is bearing the brunt of being too full!

Girls Retreat Study – Lyneil and I have been asked to speak at the Girls Retreat in Paris and I need to get my studying finished. I have started but I have a long way to go. Pray that we will have open hearts so that God’s Word can be the message.

Christmas Shopping – Since we are going home by vehicle, we are going to try and take most of our presents that we have bought with us. It beats having to ship them or bring them while flying.

Savings for Karl’s new adventure – Karl would like to take up piloting and get his license. He has talked about it and it is becoming a reality. We are saving money for it so that he can start it first part of next year.

Scrapbook – I used to keep up with all of my scrap booking. I have not completed a book since 2002. That is disgusting and I need to get better organized with my time so that I can come in and scrap one or two pages at a time.

Visit Grandma Hazel – This is Karl’s Grandmother, whom I have never met. I have talked to her on occasion, but have never had the honor of meeting face to face. She lives closer to where we are now and I need to make the initiative to go and meet her.

Brake Job – I need a brake job done on my car and Lyneil needs to take her car in for something. We just need to schedule it and get it done.

Mail Birthday Gifts – October holds 6 birthdays for our family. I have only mailed out one gift and have one more ready to go. I need to go shopping and get the other four ready to go into the mail!

Dentist – Karl and I both need to go to the dentist. Nough said!

13 Ways We Are Leaning to be Affectionate...

13 Ways We Are Learning To Be Affectionate...
(I'll keep it PG)

13. Hug and kiss every morning before you get out of bed

12. Tell each other that you love them while having breakfast together

11. Kiss before you leave for work

10. Call during the day to see how they are doing

9. Bring home flowers for a surprise (with card filled out by him)

8. Give gifts for special occasions that are sentimental rather than practical

7. After work, call before heading home so you can know when to be expected

6. Stop and listen rather than doing other things while trying to have a conversation

5. Give a hug and kiss after arriving home and spend some time talking about your days

4. Help with the dishes after dinner

3. Hug and kiss every night, before you both go to sleep

2. Be supportive of recreational activities

1. Pray together every night

Karl and I are changing more and more. We have so much room for growth but these are a few things that I have taken away from our last meeting. Karl seems to think that I am affectionate enough but I think that there is always room for improvement. If nothing else, we have HAD to talk more, one on one about things that we don't share as openly as we should. It's almost like we're dating again. We are putting forth so much effort to try and fulfill each other and change where we can that it is new and fun.
I love this class. It is encouraging to see and hear other couples talk about their problems and want to change them like we do. We are becoming a closer group that is for sure. His Needs/Her Needs is the greatest. If you have a chance to take a Marriage Enrichment Class, please, go for it. You will be blessed!
