Kaden's first dentist appointment

Yes, he is 2.5 and I haven't taken him to the dentist yet...we have a favorite here and they are a nightmare to get into...but the waiting was worth it!

Kaden was amazing! He was most excited about leaving with a balloon!

The first thing he got to do was draw a picture on his bib. Then, it was off to the chair!

The ladies in the office were great with him and Dr. Evans said he was a poster child for beautiful teeth and healthy gums...10 beautiful teeth on top and 10 on the bottom!

He asked 10 times if we were done yet. But he kept sitting and being patient!

Woohoo! Thank you God, for healthy boys!

Leland's 5 months old

The I-Cubs (minor league team here in Des Moines) hosts Dollar Days ever so often. We decided to take advantage of this not so expensive outing. We were joined by two other church families! We had a blast and the weather was perfect for a game. Happy 5 month birthday, Leland!

My favorite three boys...I love these guys! I have very few pictures of Leland smiling. It is easy to make him smile, but the fascination of a camera or phone in his face and he suddenly forgets he was happy!

Kaden and Cordellia danced, played, chatted and had a big ol' time at the game together.

Colby, Bryant, Logan and Rosa joined us as well. Rosa is loosing teeth left and right...she and I had a good time for the couple of innings she sat next to me!

Leland is now 5 months old.

Leland loves to coo. He has started babbling more. He is super helpful with his busy hands. He can grab anything you dangle in front of him...even spoons full of green beans (his personal favorite). His eyes are hazel (most of the time blue). He loves his tummy time and is only rolling one way (it is perfected...rolls over the left side from tummy to back). He is infatuated with Kaden and Karl. He growls at Karl and open mouth laughs at Kaden. He gives great, wet kisses! He loves food (peas, green beans, carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, apples, fruit smoothies, banana bread, bananas, avocados...I think that is all we have tried).

Kaden and Karl fishing. Kaden loves to catch the fish, have Karl take them off the line and then Kaden's job is to release them. He wanted to throw everyone's back in after they caught them. Then, Kaden would sit down in the chair and say, "I want to catch anoder un"! We had a blast.

Leland's 1st hair cut

My two boys after hair cuts. They look sharp!

His daddy buzzed him...and poor baby just wanted to show off his teeth!

I fought hard to hold off on the cut...but I lost. Karl did not back down. I cried. I was not ready. He is still the same sweet, cuddly, precious baby boy...just with less hair!

Balloon Festival Time

The love of my life took us all to the Balloon Festival on the first weekend of August. We had a great time. It was HOT and humid but the smaller balloons were able to fly and Kaden LOVED it....Leland slept!

Adventureland

A really good friend of ours earned tickets to Adventureland (because she works her tail off every day and is REALLY good at what she does) and gave them to us! So, when the Beck's were here, Lyneil, the four boys and I were able to go and spend a day having a blast...Lisa was super kind enough to keep Leland and Landon for me...We am so blessed with great friends!

The boys had a blast! They loved riding the rides...getting wet...going round and round and round...laughing...eating lunch...feeding the fish...riding more rides...getting wet again...everything!

Neil and I had a blast as well!

Leland's 4 months old

Leland is so talkative...like his daddy I guess...

First try of cereal...I couldn't get the spoon there fast enough. He was not interested in the spoon alone on the tray but every time my hand went up in the air with food, he was all excited!

I LOVE CEREAL!!!!

He is now 4 months old.

He is a sweet boy that loves to be held and cuddled...ALL THE TIME!

He coos non stop and growls most of the time.

Loves his own bed at night, but will not sleep on his back for more than hour.

Leland grabs things in front of him (preferrable someone's hand...not so much for reaching for toys or spoons, but will take your hand and force it to his mouth).

He is SO HAPPY!

He loves to sit and see Kaden.

He follows Kaden in and out of the room by listening for him.

He still sleeps a lot (wakes up at 7:30 am and eats,

then a nap until 12:30 pm if we are home).

His hair is tinted red.

He has two bottom teeth that are teasing him.

He is loved...smothered in love!
